LAHORE: Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr. Tahirul Qadri said on Tuesday that he would announce his party’s future strategy pertaining to upcoming elections on March 17, the cleric also confirmed his scheduled visit to Canada for a media checkup that kick offs tomorrow, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
In his address to a press conference in Lahore, PAT chief said the decision whether his party would contest the upcoming general elections or not would be made public on March 17.
Qadri said he would support every step of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold a free, fair and transparent elections in the country, though, he said his reservations about the constitution of election commission had not entirely been removed.
PAT chief said his party had formulated a parliamentary board which sought application from those aspirants for contesting polls.
Talking about terrorism‚ Qadri termed government’s actions to track down culprits of Quetta carnage as ‘unsatisfactory’. He condemned the Dargah Hajin Shah terrorist attack and said “Pakistan can’t go hand in hand with terrorism.”
