ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Member Qatar’s Royal family and Chairman Pak-Qatar Takaful Group Sheikh Ali Abdullah Thani Al Thani met the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on matters of mutual interest including Pakistan-Qatar bilateral relations, economic and trade cooperation.

Welcoming Sheikh Ali Abdullah Thani Al Thani, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan wants to further enhance bilateral relations with Qatar, especially to promote economic cooperation.

Briefing the foreign minister about Pak-Qatar Al-Takaful Group’s ongoing business activities in Pakistan, Sheikh Ali Abdullah Thani Al Thani said that his Country is determined for more investment in Pakistan.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the government is fully focusing on economic priorities and Pakistan consists of a huge market of 220 million people, offering massive investment opportunities.

The foreign minister said that we are offering various facilities including E-Visa to foreign investors to do business in Pakistan.

Qureshi said that Qatari Companies can earn the best profit by investing in various sectors of Pakistan including construction, information technology, infrastructure development, banking, and tourism.

The Foreign Minister expressed good wishes for His Excellency Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Separately, the 11-member Qatari Parliamentary Delegation led by Sheikh Ali Abdullah Thani Al Thani also met the Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani in Islamabad.

In the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction on the progress of bilateral relations in the realm of trade and investment.

The Chairman Senate said that Pakistan is committed to transform its brotherly relations with Qatar into a strong political and economic partnership.

Sadiq Sanjrani said that Pakistan offers an investment-friendly atmosphere in the whole region and is known for its independent policies. He said that every possible cooperation will be extended to the Qatar Investment Authority to invest in Pakistan.

The Deputy Chairman Senate Mirza Muhammad Afridi hosted a luncheon in honour of the visiting Qatari delegation.
