ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani Friday urged strengthening Pakistan and Nepal relations through enhancing parliamentary ties and cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.Â
Talking to a four-member delegation headed by Minister for Peace and Reconstruction of Nepal Ek Nath, he said bilateral relations could be further cemented by increasing parliamentary exchanges, said a press release issued here.
Chairman Senate underscored the need for enhanced parliamentary linkages between Parliaments of two sides.
He urged regional countries to put their energies together to strengthen South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) for developing the region.
India has scuttled SAARC summit and whole region has been brought to halt for Indian interest. Bilateral issues should be resolved through bilateral means and international commitments.
He underscored the need for enhanced parliamentary and bilateral cooperation and emphasized for peaceful resolution of all regional issues.
Chairman Senate said that India should stop violation of the human rights and international laws in Kashmir.
He asserted that Kashmir issue has a simple solution which can be resolved through the UN Resolutions and it was India that approached the UN in this regard.
Head of the visiting delegation apprised the Chairman Senate about the recent constitutional developments in Nepal.
