ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places of upper parts besides few central areas of Punjab till Saturday while cold and dry weather will continue elsewhere in the country.
Rainfall is likely at Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA), Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir in next 24 hours.
Foggy conditions are likely to continue over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.
A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Saturday, an official of Met office told the state-run news agency.
In last 24 hours rain-thunderstorm with snow over the hills occurred at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Kashmir, while at a few places of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan whereas cold dry weather persist in other parts of the country.
Rainfall recorded during this time span was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kakul 35mm, Dir 32mm, Balakot 20mm, Pattan 12mm, Lower Dir, Parachinar 06mm, Chitral 05mm, Cherat, Malamjaba, Saidu Sharif 04mm, Peshawar City 03mm, Drosh, Kohat 02mm, Kashmir: Garhi Dupatta 26mm, Muzaffarabad 25mm, Rawalakot 08mm. Punjab: Islamabad Z.P 23mm, Rawalpindi 17mm, Murree 11mm, Kamra 08mm, Sialkot A/P 01mm. G.B: Gupis 09mm.
Snowfall recorded remained Kalam 09 inch, Malamjabba 04 inch, Murree 03 inch and Dir 01 inch.
Minimum temperatures recorded on Thursday were Gilgit-Baltistan (Skardu -11øC, Gupis -06øC, Bagrote, Astore -03øC, Hunza -02øC), FATA: Parachinar -05øC, Upper KP (Kalam -04, Malamjabba -03øC, Dir -02øC), north Balochistan (Kalat -01øC).
