ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The government is ready to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the prime minister and ministers in the Lahore’s Model Town firing incident, the federal information minister Pervaiz Rasheed said.
In a statement, the minister said that the government’s negotiating team in talks with the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri had expressed its readiness to register the baseless case but it has put the condition that the innocent children and women participating in the sit-in would be allowed to go home.
The information minister said that due to the lingering sit-ins, foreign investors were reluctant to come to Pakistan.

Dr Tahirul Qadri announced that dialogue process with the government has completely failed, following two rounds of talks with the federal ministers Ishaq Dar and Zahid Hamid.
In his address to his Inqilab March participants late on Wednesday night, the PAT leader said that the government has refused to accept the two core demands extended by his party.
Qadri said that two demands were FIR against 21 individuals including Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with police officials in Model Town tragedy and the resignations of Sharif brothers.
“Thursday will be Youm-e-Inquilab (revolution day),” said the PAT leader, adding that, “We will not go forward from tomorrow as it will be the deciding day.”
