ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed the commitment of the government towards eradicating Polio for which all resources are being made available.
In his address at a ceremony at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad on Friday in connection with the World Polio Day, the prime minister said that his office has recently taken a polio eradication initiative for directly monitoring and reviewing progress on this matter of utmost importance.
The prime minister said that a PM’s focus group for polio emergency has also been constituted to hold monthly meetings to assess the performance of the polio eradication program.
Sharif said that a comprehensive communication strategy is being evolved that promotes all immunization as right of the child calling upon every segment of the society to ensure children are given this right.
On this occasion, the prime minister met polio affected children and their parents. He also administered polio vaccine drops to children.
