DAMACUS: As the Syrian people are celebrating Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the holy shrine of Sayyida Zainab was attacked with mortar shells on Thursday by foreign-backed Takfiri militants, the second attack within a month.
At least five persons were reportedly killed and nearly twenty others injured in the mortar shell attack on the holy shrine located in the southern suburbs of the Syrian capital, Damascus, Iranian media reported.
The holy shrine also came under a terrorist attack on July 19 when foreign-backed Takfiri militants fired several mortar shells at the shrine, killing a custodian.
