DYAMIR: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Monday that attempts are being made to deteriorate the law and order situation in Gilgit- Baltistan through sectarianism with a warning that in the days to come the terrorism could rise, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
In his address to the inaugural ceremony of the Passport office in Dyamir on Monday, the minister said that law and order situation is being created in Gilgit-Baltistan through promoting sectarianism. He dispelled the impression that religious schools are producing terrorism.
Malik said that the terrorists are getting funds from abroad. Meanwhile, the minister accused the terrorists hailing from Afghanistan as responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.
The Interior Minister further said that elections would be held on time and the nation wants continuity of democracy. He added that army played a vital role in the continuation of the democratic process.
