ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Severe weather has been forecast in Upper and Central Parts of the Country in next few hours, which will likely be generating thunderstorm and flash flooding.
As per the Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD), a powerful westerly wave is affecting Most Upper and Central Parts of the Country and likely to persist in Upper Parts till Wednesday (tomorrow).
The PMD states that widespread dust-thunderstorm/rain accompanied by gusty winds is expected in Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Quetta, Zhob, Sibbi, Kalat, Sukkur, and Larkana divisions.
Hailstorm is also expected at few places during the period. Likewise, isolated heavy falls are also expected in Malakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir.
The metrological department says that heavy rain falls may generate flash flooding in local nullah/riverine in Makran, Quetta, Zhob, and Dera Khazi khan divisions on Tuesday.
While heavy rains may also trigger landslides in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Reports say that this will be the heaviest rain after 2013, severally affecting 70 percent of the Country.
Meanwhile, heavy rains with thunderstorm have already cost 25 lives across the Country along with multiple injuries while a number of buildings were also collapsed.
