NEW YORK: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met his Kazakh Counterpart Atamkulov Beibut Bakirovich on the margins of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

Qureshi briefed the Kazakhstan’s foreign minister on the latest regional situation, including the serious human rights and humanitarian situation in the Indian Occupied Jammu &Kashmir (IOJ&K) since August 5, 2019.

The foreign minister said that the Office of the High Commissioner for the Human Rights; independent human rights organizations& watch-dogs; Parliamentarians in several countries; and international media all continued to express their grave concern over Indian atrocities.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi emphasized that IOJ&K remained the most militarized zone in the world and the prevailing situation posed serious threat to the regional and international peace and security.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, and agreed to further enhance their cooperation in areas of mutual interest. They also agreed to closely cooperate at all multilateral forums.
