ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Accountability Court in Islamabad on Tuesday rejected the Sharif family’s objections to the supplementary reference that was filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in connection with the Avenfield Properties Reference.

The Court judge Muhammad Bashir has reserved the verdict earlier in the morning after listening the arguments from the NAB Prosecutor General and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer Khawaja Haris regarding objections over the interim reference.

The Court decided that the supplementary reference would be made part of the record in the Avenfield Flats Case.

Khawaja Haris had argued that the interim reference was filed to target Nawaz Sharif personally.

The former prime minister, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Son-in-Law Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar also appeared before the Accountability Court to face references filed by NAB as per the directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Three more prosecution witnesses recorded their statements before the judge Muhammad Bashir.

The accountability court also heard the reference against the former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for having assets beyond known sources of income.

Talking to media outside the Court, the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that right now the Cases against him were proceeding everywhere. He said that everyone knew the reason why cases had been registered against him.
