KURRAM AGENCY, Pakistan: Six persons including three women were killed when their vehicle struck a landmine in Kurram agency on Tuesday, sources in the political administration told.
Sources said that all deceased belonged to the same family, and they were travelling to attend funeral prayers.
But as their vehicle reached Muqbal area of Kurram agency, it hit a landmine planted along the roadside.
Sources in the political administration said that besides six people who were killed in the landmine explosion, one another person also received injuries.
Subsequently, the dead bodies and the injured person were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital in Parachinar. Sources said that the injured person was later shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar, adding that his life was out of danger.
Meanwhile, the security forces cordoned off the blast area.
