KARACHI: The Sindh government on Friday submitted an application in the Supreme Court of Pakistan seeking an extension in the date of the local government elections in the province, sources said.
The provincial government was of view that there might be some delay in holding local government polls due to Muharram Ul Haram holidays.
The Sindh government pleaded that it required more time to finalize arrangements including printing of ballot papers for the local bodies elections. Moreover, it prayed to the court for immediate hearing of the plea.
