The CID of Assam Police has finally stepped in the ongoing controversy and took up suo motu investigations into a website’s article  ‘Assam Rape Festival’  CID additional superintendent of police Nirmal Baishya states that  investigations have revealed that the article was sourced from Uganda and the website is hosted in Houston in the US.
The article went viral on social media which resulted anger in people of Assam as they are of the view that this will destroy the image of Assam Worldwide
