Siri Paye camping is not that easy but worth struggling. This is probably one of the best camping spots in Pakistan that you should visit.

Siri Paye is a combination of two Hindko words “Sar” and “Paya”. The “Sar” means lake and “Paya” means high grazing ground. The Siri Paye Meadow is a striking sight as it offers a glimpse of Makra Peak, Malika Parbat, and the mountains of Kashmir. However, getting there is not a piece of cake and most people travel hard after spending the night in Shogran. 

The natural beauty of Sri Paye Meadows fascinates everyone. In winter, it is very much covered with snow. While in summer, lush grass and meadows give a charming look. The local people are very polite and their hospitality makes you feel at home. Sri Paye camping is accessible through Shogran, and Shogran is accessible from Kiwai. You can rent a jeep from Kiwai to reach Shogran. You will reach Shogran in 40 minutes and after that, you will have to trek on a steep and narrow road for 20 minutes to reach Siri Paye. There should be a decreased oxygen level if somebody has a breathing problem, he should remain careful. 

Things You Should Care About In Siri Paye Camping

You should visit Paya Lake in Siri Paye. Here, tourists enjoy horse riding and some go for adventurous camping.

  • Do not travel to Siri Paye during severe weather conditions since the road is dangerous.
  • Be prepared to walk a lot and make sure to wear comfy shoes.
  • Carry an inhaler if you have breathing problems.
  • Apply sunblock.
  • Carry a small water bottle.
  • Take some snacks so you can have a mini picnic next to the lake.
