ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Friday that it is a matter of concern that some TV channels are out to derail the system and trying to portray a bleak picture which shows their ulterior motives.
In his address at the launching ceremony of the national lap top scheme in Islamabad on Friday, the prime minister said that some rejected elements want to destabilise the system but their ulterior motives could not be fulfilled as the government is pursuing merit and transparency in all its schemes.
The prime minister rejected the politics of agitation launched by certain political parties, and said that the government has the mandate to serve the masses for five years which will change the destiny of the nation.
Sharif suggested the opponents to wait for five years to get mandate from the people instead of creating hurdles in the way of the government. He asked them to avoid leg pulling and let the government function smoothly.
Nawaz Sharif said that the government is pursuing the agenda of speedy national development and will foil designs of those who are engaged in conspiracies against the country.
In addition, he said that the government is committed to ensuring peace in the country at all costs and expressed the confidence that time will come shortly when the country will be free from illegal weapons.
The prime minister said that if the government is allowed to complete its tenure, it will also overcome the issues of terrorism, extortionism, and target killings hoping that people will live in peace and the country will progress.
