JEDDAH: The foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries will meet in Jeddah on Wednesday, and expected to discuss host of issues facing the Muslim world with particular focus on the security crisis in Iraq, Syrian situation, political developments in Palestine and Kashmir issue.
The prime minister’s advisor to on foreign affairs and national security Sartaj Aziz will represent Pakistan in the two-day conference, which will be presided over by new OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani.
This is the 41st session of the OIC’s Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM). It is held every year.
Meanwhile, the Indian authorities have refused to issue travel documents to Hurriyet leaders to visit Saudi Arabia to attend the conference on the invitation of OIC Secretary General. Those invited to attend the event included veteran Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani and the APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
