ISLAMABAD: The British High Commissioner to Pakistan Philip Barton said on Thursday that his country will continue to support the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the North Waziristan tribal region, where a full scale military operation is currently going on, through the World Food Program and other UN agencies.
In a meeting with the federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Thursday, the high commissioner said that the international community will provide necessary assistance to Pakistan to meet the challenges of huge internal displacement of people from the areas of operation.
Barton apprised the minister that the United Kingdom strongly supports Pakistan’s efforts in fight against terrorism.
