WASHINGTON: The United States of America (USA) has acknowledged that Pakistan is an important partner in supporting reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
Speaking at a briefing in Washington‚ a State Department spokesperson said Pakistan’s own security and stability is tied with successful outcome in Afghanistan.
Commenting on recent visit by Special Advisor to Prime Minister‚ Sartaj Aziz to Kabul‚ the spokesperson said Washington views any step contributing to building Pakistan-Afghanistan relations as “very important”.
Sartaj Aziz during his talks with Afghan President Karzai had expressed Islamabad’s commitment to supporting Afghan-led peace and reconciliation process to end decades of strife in that country.
