WASHIGTON: The US Central Intelligence Agency and State Department have begun delivering weapons to foreign-backed militants in Syria through Turkey and Jordan over the past two weeks, The Washington Post citing US officials reported.
The newspaper said that the US State Department has sent separate shipments of vehicles and other materials, including new types of non-lethal gear, sophisticated communications equipment and advanced combat medical kits.
