33-member parliamentary committee on electoral reforms constituted

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A 33-member parliamentary committee on electoral reforms has been constituted to evaluate the shortcomings of the previous electoral process and make recommendations to hold free, fair and transparent elections.

The committee was constituted by the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq while a notification to this effect has been issued.

The committee comprises 22 members of the lower house of the parliament including Zahid Hamid,  Anusha Rehman Khan , Abdul Qadir Baloch, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Abdul Hakeem Baloch,  Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry,  Abdul Rahim Mandokhail, Naeema Kishwar Khan,  Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi,  Ghaus Bux Khan Mahar,  Syed Ghazi Ghulab Jamal,  Usman Khan Tarakai,  Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao,  Ejaz ul Haq,  Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Syed Naveed Qamar, Shazia Mari, Sahibzada Tariq Ullah, Shafqat Mehmood, Shireen Mehrunnisa Mazari, Arif Alvi and Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar.

Likewise, 11 Senators who are part of the committee include Ishaq Dar, Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, Muhammad Talha Mehmood, Hilal ur Rehman, Aitzaz Ahsan, Mian Raza Rabbani, Haji Muhammad Adeel, Mir Israrullah Khan Zehri, Mushahid Hussain Syed and Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi.

The committee will submit its recommendations within three months.
