NAIROBI: At least 41 persons were killed and 27 others injured in a bus crash west of the Kenya capital of Nairobi on Thursday, the Kenyan Red Cross said.
According to reports, the bus was travelling from Nairobi to Homa Bay on the banks of Lake Victoria. It was about halfway to its destination when it swerved off the road and plunged into a valley, rolling over several times before coming to a standstill.
Police officials said that all indicators of the accident point to possible speeding and overloading the vehicle.
