ABUJA: At least 60 persons were killed when Boko Haram Islamists armed with heavy weapons stormed the northeast Nigeria town of Bama, police said on Thursday.
The attackers also caused massive destruction to various buildings as they burnt down some of the major landmarks in the town including the local government secretariat, the police commissioner in Borno state Lawal Tanko told a foreign news agency.
