3rd ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand is scheduled to begin at 03:00 am PST
AUCKLAND, New Zealand: Pakistan on Sunday will look to repeats its previous ODI performance at the Eden Park on Auckland where it clinched a 29-run famous victory against South Africa during the 2015 World Cup.
However, this time the opposition (New Zealand) looks much stronger as compared to Pakistan when it comes to recent performances and winning momentum.
New Zealand while playing at home faced defeat only in four matches out of 26 in all formats since November 2014. The Host also did not lose a single series at home since then.
The Kiwis can extend their unbeaten record since late 2014 by winning at Auckland as they beat Pakistan by 70 runs in the first one day international (ODI) of the three-match series while the second match was washed out due to heavy rain.
In the third ODI, the Host will have the services of Captain Brendon McCullum who did not play previous matches due to back injury. However, the in-form Martin Guptill’s inclusion is doubtful because he sustained ankle injury during training session.
On the other hand, Shoaib Malik will be back in Pakistan squad to empower the batting lineup with his experience.
Pakistan’s recent ODI record has not been worth praising as it won only one game in its last five 50-over games. A victory on Sunday will not only give Pakistan a confidence for next future series but will also lead it to level the series 1-1.
