BIRMINGHAM, United Kingdom: Pakistan continue their first innings on the third day of third Investec Test against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Friday.
Pakistan resumed their innings on Friday morning with 257 for 3. But Younis Khan could not occupy the crease for too long and added just 10 more runs to his yesterday’s score before he was caught behind off Chris Woakes’s ball.
Younis Khan scored 31 runs of 90 balls with 4 fours.
The Captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Asad Shafiq were batting when this report was filed. Misbah were on 21 while Asad still had to open his account. Pakistan were on 293 for 4, requiring 4 more runs to level England’s first innings score.
On Thursday at stumps, Pakistan were on 257 for 3 with Younis Khan on the crease. The Centurion Azhar Ali got out by Woakes in last ball of the day. He scored 139 runs.
Prior to Azhar Ali’s dismissal, the openers Muhammad Hafeez and Sami Aslam had gone to the pavilion for 0 and 82 runs respectively. Sami Aslam was the third Pakistani batsman to score 50 runs in his first innings in England. Other two Pakistanis were Saeed Anwar who did so in 1996 and Muhammad Hafeez who scored 50 in his first innings in England in 2006.
England in their first innings were bowled out for 297.
