ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Monday banned pillion riding in Capital to maintain peace during the month of Muharram.

According to the District Magistrate Mushtaq Ahmed, this ban will come into effect on Tuesday to remain for the day under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

It is to mention that main Ashura procession in Islamabad would be taken out of central Imambargah in G-6/2 tomorrow (Tuesday). Traditionally, the main procession in Islamabad is held on Muharram 9 and in Rawalpindi on Muharram 10.
