Big match is around the corner in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 when tournament favorites England and New Zealand will meet at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Tuesday in a group A match.
The Host England began its journey in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 with an impressive and comfortable eight-wicket win over Bangladesh at The Oval on June 1, securing two points.
However New Zealand was restricted to bag just one point despite imposing dominance over Australia at Edgbaston on June 2 because of rain.
Now the right-arm fast bowler Steven Finn has joined England Squad after Chris Woakes was ruled out of rest of the tournament due to injury. Steven Finn is likely to play at Cardiff.
Whereas New Zealand is likely to have same Squad, it grounded at Edgbaston against Australia.
PTV, As per recent record in World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy, New Zealand has clear edge over England as out of seven ODIs between the two teams in ICC main events, the Black Caps remain victorious six times.
However, the only defeat which New Zealand had to suffer at the hands of England came in ICC Champions Trophy 2013 at Cardiff, the same venue where they will meet again today.
For Cricket lovers, it wouldn’t be nice to know that rain and strong winds have also been forecast at Cardiff. Though it won’t reportedly affect the match entirely.
PTV Sportws reported that last night, rain deprived Australia of crucial one point when it lashed The Oval. So far both Australian matches in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 were interrupted by rain, resultantly each side in both matches received one point.
