Pakistan have reached on the verge of losing the sixth bilateral ODI series against Australia in a row. Last time in June 2002, Pakistan sealed a 2-1 victory against Aussies in a bilateral series; however, afterward, their endeavors to replicate it yielded no fruitful results.

The third One Day International (ODI) between them will begin shortly at Abu Dhabi. Earlier in the first two ODIs, Pakistan featured three debutants including Shan Masood, Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Hasnain.

However, the Team Coach Mickey Arthur has already ruled out any further debut by any Pakistani in the third ODI. Though Junaid Khan and Usman Shinwari are likely to replace Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Abbas in today’s game.

Australia’s Jhye Richardson won’t be available for rest of the series as well. He suffered an elbow injury in the second ODI.

Earlier following an eight-wicket defeat at Sharjah in the first ODI, Pakistan were once again overpowered by Australia in the next match.

In the second ODI, Pakistan succeeded to add just four more runs to their first match score of 280 in stipulated 50 overs. But Australians also even came much harder, and inflicted Pakistan another eight wickets loss.

From Pakistan, the Wicket Keeper Batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored his maiden ODI century. Shoaib Malik also played a 60-run innings.

But the 209-run first wicket partnership by Usman Khawaja and Aaron Finch took the match away from Pakistan quiet easily. They scored 88 and 153 runs respectively. It was Finch’s second consecutive century in the series.

It is worth noting that out of last 12 ODIs against Pakistan, Australia have won 11.
