AfghanistanPakistan-Afghanistan- Britain trilateral summit starts in London

LONDON: A trilateral summit between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Britain is set to begin today in London, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Saturday.

President Asif Ali Zardari is representing Pakistan at the two-day trilateral dialogue with British Prime Minister David Cameron and Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

During the talks, the leaders of Pakistan and Afghanistan will outline their strategic partnership and evolve a joint strategy for reconciliation in Afghanistan for establishment of administration that can ensure stability in the war-torn country in the wake of the withdrawal of foreign troops.

It is the third trilateral summit of Pakistan-UK and Afghanistan in less than six months. The first of the series took place when Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf visited Kabul on his maiden trip to that capital in August last year and followed by trilateral in September when two presidents and the British prime minister had meeting in the United Nations headquarters in New York on the brinks of the UN annual heads of state/government meeting.
