BAKU, Azerbaijan: The Member of the Azerbaijan Parliament Asim Mollazade has said that no one can put pressure on Azerbaijan.
“No one will be able to achieve anything from Azerbaijan by contravening international law. Azerbaijan pursues its foreign policy on the basis of the norms of international law. Everyone must come to terms with this reality,” Asim Mollazade was quoted as saying by Eurasia Diary in an interview with local television on the position of the United States and France on Armenia.
Alluding to the statement by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in which openly said that the French government as well as the current US administration stood by Armenia, Asim Mollazade praised the former’s sharp statements on the policy pursued by the United States and France, and said that the president correctly explained the situation.
“The President has explained these issues very accurately and precisely. If these two countries change their policies towards Azerbaijan on the basis of their national interests and understand the reality, I think that everything can return to its normal level within the framework of international law. Otherwise, they will be the losers,” he said.
The Azerbaijan MP added, “Unfortunately, the well-organized Armenian Diaspora in both France and the United States has strong impacts on the politics of these countries. In California and the other US States, the Armenian lobby has managed to take many politicians in their hands. Despite the fact that the United States and France are co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, the politicians of these countries support a biased position on the Karabakh issue, which is contrary to their national interests. After the war, the House of Representatives and the Senate of the French Parliament have adopted a document against Azerbaijan, which contradicts the norms of international law. Such a step has inflicted serious damage on French-Azerbaijani relations”.
