SportsFinal Test: Zimbabwe elect to bat vs Pakistan

HARARE: Zimbabwe on Tuesday won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in the second and final cricket Test match being played in Harare.

Pakistan are unchanged. Mohammad Hafeez is presumably fit for the game, and Khurram Manzoor and Rahat Ali rightly get another chance.

After the toss, Misbah said “I never believe toss is anything in the game. I don’t mind bowling first. They don’t have many spinners, so even if we are batting last, it does not matter.

“Brendan Taylor says he does not want to bat last on this pitch, which has had less than three days of preparation after the first Test ended on Saturday.

Earlier, Strong bowling by spinners and double century by Younis Khan helped Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 221 runs in the first test match.

Abdul Rehman and Saeed Ajmal got 4 wickets each in the second innings. Ajmal took wickets 11 wickets in the match.

Needing 342 runs to win, Zimbabwe were all out at 120.

Zimbabwe got a formidable lead in the first innings but Younis Khan’s double century in the second innings made the difference in the match.

Pakistan is leading the series by one-nil.
