PRAGUE: The Social Democrats have taken a lead in Czech Republic parliamentary election as they have managed to secure 22 percent of the vote, according to results of two thirds of Czech polling stations.

However, according to analysts, Social Democrats led by ex-finance minister Bohuslav Sobotka, are unlikely to win an overall majority, paving the way for another unstable coalition.

The political party ANO is in second place as it has won 19 percent of the vote, while the Communists have secured 16 percent.

The election follows months of political turmoil in Czech Republic which is currently being governed by a caretaker cabinet of technocrats.
