New Zealand's Corey Anderson scores fastest ODI century, beats Shahid Afridi’s record

QUEENSTOWN: New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson on Wednesday scored the fastest century of just 36 balls in one-day international‚ eclipsing the record of 37 balls set by Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi against Sri Lanka in 1996.

The 23-year-old Anderson made this record against West-Indies in the third ODI at Queenstown on Wednesday.

Anderson brought up the mark with his 12th six of the innings after the match between the two sides was reduced to a 21-over match due to rain. He remained unbeaten on 131 off 47 balls with 14 sixes and half a dozen fours to take New Zealand to a mammoth 283 for four wickets in their innings.
