RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Pakistan army has said that concrete steps will be taken that the terrorists could not return to tribal areas after the military operation Zarb-e-Azb concluded.

In a media briefing, the Director General Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa said that the army will root out terrorists from the country at all cost and it will come up to the expectations of the nation through the operation.

The DG ISPR said that the operation Zarb-e-Azb is aimed at establishing writ of the government in tribal areas and bring peace in all parts of the country.

Bajwa said that North Waziristan had become main hideout of the terrorists who used this area for their nefarious designs and creates law and order situation in the country. He said that the terrorists were used to brain wash suicide attackers in their training centres in North Waziristan.

Major General Bajwa said that the operation against terrorists is in full swing and a large number of terrorists were killed, however some of them managed to flee from the area.

No terrorist could leave North Waziristan after June 15, Bajwa said adding that security situation in the cleared areas of North Waziristan is satisfactory.

Moreover, he said that from January to mid of this year, a total of 190 innocent people were killed in terrorist incident throughout the country.

The DG ISPR said that the total number of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) has crossed the figure of over 900,000 but it is being ensured that the registration of the IDPs should be made after complete investigation.
