NEW DELHI, India: The Pakistani high commissioner to India Abdul Basit has said that peace in Afghanistan will ensure peace in Pakistan.
Basit made these remarks while talking about Pakistan’s efforts for establishment of durable peace in Afghanistan at a news conference in New Delhi on Wednesday.
“Pakistan will continue playing its constructive role in Afghan-owned, Afghan-led reconciliation process,” he said.
The envoy said that Pakistan has sacrificed over 50,000 lives and bore the damages of more than $100 billion while fighting war against terror.
The Pakistani high commissioner to India said that the Pakistan army is fighting decisive fight in the North Waziristan tribal region, which is likely to be concluded in next eight to ten weeks.
