IMF says it could release additional $1.1 billion to Pakistan in December

WASHINGTON: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that it could release an additional $1.1 billion to Pakistan in December this year as the country’s economic reforms are on track.

The IMF’s Pakistan mission chief Jeffrey Franks stated this in a statement issued after his talks with the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and the Central Bank Governor Ashraf Wathra in Washington.

Jeffrey Franks said that there had been very good talks with the Pakistani officials about the economic programme.
