ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Assembly on Thursday adopted a unanimous resolution strongly condemning unprovoked and indiscriminate ceasefire violations by India on Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary resulting into loss of human and material losses.
The resolution was moved by the prime minister’s advisor on national security and foreign affair Sartaj Aziz in the house after winding up debate on the situation arising out of Indian firing.
The resolution called upon the government that while pursuing bilateral dialogue with India, the issue should be raised at the United Nations and with the international community urging them to play their role in resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiri people.
It expressed concern over plight of Kashmiris living under Indian occupation and non-fulfilment of rights of self-determination.
The house expressed heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families and prayed for full recovery of those who sustained injuries in Indian firing.
It appreciated the armed forces for their courage and bravery with which it has responded to the situation.
It also appreciated the resolve of the National Security Committee to thwart any threat to Pakistan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
