Fast and Furious 7 marks final film appearance of Paul Walker
The 7th installment of the Fast and Furious series marks the final film appearance of Paul Walker who died in a car accident in Los Angeles on November 30, 2013.
The action-thriller movie was released in over 10,500 screens in 63 countries earlier this month, and in its opening weekend it took $384 million (£257 million) at the global box office while $143.6 million (£96 million) was made at the US box office.
James Wan-directed American film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Kurt Russell and Jason Statham.
Following the death of Paul Walker, filming was delayed for script re-writes and his younger brothers Caleb and Cody were used as stand-ins to complete his remaining scenes.
At the end of the 137-minute movie, the director James Wan paid tribute to late star Paul Walker. He also avoided killing Paul Walker’s character Brian O’Connor instead his character was retired as in the end Brian O’Connor decided to take care of his family.
In a scene towards the end, the Fast and Furious team sit on a beach and watch Paul Walker play in the sea with his family in the distance, talking about him leaving the group, and they all look genuinely devastated.
