Religious scholars agree to uniform Sehar-o-Iftar timings, Senate informed

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Senate was informed on Tuesday that the religious scholars of different schools of thought including Shia and Sunni have agreed to a uniform Sehar-o-Iftar timings across Pakistan.

The 2015 Islamic Holy month of Ramazan is expected to begin in Pakistan on June 18.

While speaking on a point of order in the Senate on Tuesday, the leader of the House Raja Zafar-ul-Haq told that House that the federal government has prepared a special Ramazan package to provide essential commodities to the consumers at reduced rate during the Holy month of Ramazan.

The leader of the House said that Ramazan package will be introduced before the start of Ramazan.

Earlier on Thursday, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif gave approval to the Ramazan Package worth billions of rupees for providing relief to the people in the month of fasting.

The chief minister gave approval to the package while presiding over a meeting through a video link at the Civil Secretariat in Lahore.
