ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for information Pervaiz Rasheed said on Wednesday that games at any level must be free of politics.
“The spectators should not be barred from expressing their feelings,” the information minister said in an apparent reference to the ruling made by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), banning local supporters from waving non-Bangladeshi flags at the ongoing World Twenty20 tournament.
On Tuesday, the BCB threatened to ban local supporters from stadiums if they are seen carrying the flags of any of the other teams competing in the tournament.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) also took notice of action taken by the BCB and declared the decision as unfair.
