PoliticsCorruption and democracy cannot go hand in hand: PTI

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Central Information Secretary Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Omar Sarfaraz Cheema has reiterated the PTI government’s resolve to conclude the ongoing accountability process, and said that we as a nation must learn the fact that democracy and corruption/crimes cannot go hand in hand.

While responding to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s address in the National Assembly on Thursday, Cheema said that there is a visible change in the tone of the former president while talking about the ongoing accountability.

“From blatant threats, Asif Zardari is now eager about the prospects of the accountability process,” he remarked.

Omar Sarfaraz Cheema said that by erecting meaningful posters on the roads of Sindh, PPP is trying to paint Zardari as the “Nelson Mandela” of the Country and consuming energies on presenting a purely criminal case as a political one.

The PTI leader further said that there seem serious differences between the father and son duo over political matters; however, he added, both are on the same page on the issue of safeguarding looted wealth.

While addressing the PPP Chairman and its Co-chairman, Cheema said that the only way to get rid of the guilt is to return the looted wealth of this poor nation.
