MAKKAH, Saudi Arabia: The doors of the Holy Kaaba were opened for Prime Minister Imran Khan and his delegation members in a rare gesture of solidarity and goodwill by the Saudi Arabian government when they performed Umrah in Makkah in the wee hours of Wednesday and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
The prime minister accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Information Minister Fawad Hussain and Adviser for Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood reached in Madina on Tuesday afternoon and offered his respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) as part of his two-day visit to Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In Holy Kaaba, the prime minister along with his delegation got the rare opportunity to pray inside the centuries old large stone-built building draped in black silk. It is the holiest of the sites for Muslims as they face the Kaaba for prayers five times a day.
The prime minister prayed for Allah’s blessings to help the people of Pakistan in facing the multiple challenges the Country was confronting.
A large number of pilgrims, mostly from Pakistan gathered outside the entrance of the Kaaba and waved to Imran Khan as he exited the Kaaba.
