The much-awaited Cricket battle between two arch rivals Pakistan and India in six-nation Asia Cup 2018 will possibly be rescheduled on September 20, 2018 after the Indian Cricket Board requested its rescheduling to give Indian team a one-day relief.

However, the demand for rescheduling the Pak-India encounter is under scrutiny and has not confirmed yet.

Earlier the ODI between Pakistan and India at Dubai International Cricket Stadium was scheduled on September 19, a day after Indian match against a qualifier. Since India would be playing back to back matches on September 18 and September 19, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has demanded a one day gap.

The BCCI wanted the schedule to be taken into consideration as India would be playing two consecutive matches in the event.

“This schedule is mindless and needs to be revised,” a senior official of the BCCI said, adding that this will not be accepted where India will be playing consecutively for two days.

The BCCI official further stated “Maybe it is a money-spinning game for the organizers but for us it is important that there be equity in scheduling.”

The former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag said “No one plays consecutive matches in One Day International now. Two day matches without a break in Dubai’s hot weather isn’t a fair scheduling.”

Sehwag even demanded Virat Kholi and his troops to back off from Asia Cup after seeing a schedule.

The Asia Cup 2018 will be held from September 15 to September 28 in United Arab Emirates (UAE). The first opening match will take place between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, and the next day Pakistan will play its opening match against the qualifying team.
