Iran, UK agree to improve bilateral ties

NEW YORK: The Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Kingdom have agreed to improve bilateral relations.

The agreement was reached in a meeting held between the UK Prime Minister David Cameron and the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York.

During the meeting, both the leaders stressed the need of a long-term nuclear deal between Iran and major powers on Tehran nuclear programme.

The two leaders also exchanged views on situation in Iraq and Syria.
