TEHRAN: Iran will soon use the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to have a better monitoring and control over its borders, the Commander of the Iranian Border Guards Units General Hossein Zolfaqari said.
“We are in the process of signing contracts with the manufacturing companies to use drones for protecting the country’s borders,” Zolfaqari told reporters.
The Iranian commander further said that they have sufficient evident to prove that the abducted Iranian border guard Danayeefar, who is in custody of Pakistan-based militant group Jaish al-Adl, is still alive.
The militant group abducted the five Iranian border guards on February 6 in Jakigour region in the Iranian province of Sistan-Balochistan. Later after two months four of the guards were released, while a week earlier the group claimed that it had executed Danayeefar.
