LAHORE, Pakistan: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced squads for all three formats for the tour of Bangladesh beginning on April 17.
The squads were announced by the PCB’s newly-appointed Chief Selector Haroon Rasheed at a news conference in Lahore on Friday.
The off-spinner Saeed Ajmal was picked for all three formats for the Bangladesh tour after his remodelled action was cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in February.
The middle-order batsman Umar Akmal, who had a poor ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, was dropped from the three formats while opener Ahmed Shehzad was left out of the ODI and Test squads but found a place in the T20 side.
The all-rounder Fawad Alam, who was not picked for the world cup, made a comeback for the ODIs.
“World Cup performance was also taken into account for the squad selection. The dropped players must prove themselves according to the merit devised by the PCB,” Haroon Rasheed said.
“A clear message is conveyed to the players that Pakistan comes first … Management is not going to compromise on discipline,” he said.
During the tour, Pakistan will play three ODIs, one T20 and two Test matches. The team will leave for Bangladesh on April 14.
