NAYPYIDAW, Myanmar: The prime minister’s special assistant on foreign affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi held a meeting with the US Secretary of State John Kerry in Myanmar on Sunday, and discussed matters of bilateral interest and regional issues.
During the meeting, Fatemi drew attention of the US secretary of state to anguish of Muslims in the wake of the Israeli attacks on the innocent Palestinians in Gaza.
The special assistant said that the United States should play its due role in resolving the Gaza crisis.
Tariq Fatemi is in Myanmar to represent Pakistan at a meeting of the 21st ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) ministerial meeting being held in Myanmar’s capital Naypyidaw.
