Following a hugely disappointing performance in Asia Cup 2018, Pakistan equipped with a couple of fresh legs is aiming to come up hard in the longest format of Cricket in UAE wherein it will begin battling with Australia in the first Test (will be on PTV Sports Live), starting from Sunday (October 7, 2018) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Hopefully, Pakistan will repeat the history in UAE against an inexperienced Australian side as it led by Misbah Ul Haq defeated Aussies in a two-match Test Series at the same venue in October-November 2014.
But one must not forget that in the previous Test series at UAE, apart from Misbah Ul Haq Pakistan had the services of Younis Khan who struck three Centuries including a double Century in his four innings against Australia. Both the veteran batsmen have now retired from International Cricket.
Even Australia will heavily miss Michael Clarke, Steven Smith, and David Warner as the former Australian Captain has also retired while Smith and Warner are facing a one-year suspension over their involvement in ball tampering.
In their absence, three debutants Aaron Finch, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne will receive their Test Caps prior to the beginning of first Test against Pakistan on Sunday.
First Test will be telecast on PTV Sports Live from 11:00 am PST
The Australian Captain Tim Paine has already named the Squad for the first Test, which includes besides himself, Aaron Finch, Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Mitch Marsh, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Starc, Peter Siddle, Nathan Lyon and Jon Holland.
Pakistan has yet to name its final playing XI from a 18-member Squad, which includes Sarfraz Ahmed (Captain), Mohammad Hafeez, Azhar Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Imam Ul Haq, Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Sohail, Yasir Shah, Shahdab Khan, Usman Salahuddin, Wahab Riaz, Hassan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Abbas and Mir Hamza.
It is also worth mentioning here that so far, Australia has continued to uphold its dominance over Pakistan in Test matches. From 1956 to 2017, they met 62 times and out of those, Pakistan won only 14 Tests and faced defeats in 31 while 17 Test matches between them ended in draw.
Last time, they played a three-match Test series in Australia in 2016-17, in which the host whitewashed the visitors.
Both the teams will also play a three-match T20I series at Abu Dhabi and Dubai after the conclusion of Test series.
Meanwhile, as per the tradition, all matches of Pakistan-Australia Series 2018 will be on PTV Sports Live.

Pakistan Vs India – Asia cup 2018 – Match 1
Excitement is at its peak around the World as two historical arch-rivals Pakistan and India are poised to wrestle in a Group A match of Asia Cup 2018 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. PTV Sports Live will telecast the match live at 4:30 pm according to Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
The strained bilateral ties between Pakistan and India haven’t led the two teams to meet each other quite often especially in recent years as the last time they faced each other was in June 2017 when Pakistan thrashed India by 180 runs at the Oval in the final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
In ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final, Pakistan’s playing squad included Azhar Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Imad Wasim, Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Amir, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali and Junaid Khan whereas Indian squad consisted of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Jasprit Bumrah.
However, unlike the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, and Ravichandran Ashwin are not part of Indian Squad for Asia Cup 2018. Virat Kohli has been rested and Rohit Sharma has been assigned the task of Captaining India in the event.
PTV Sports Live to Broadcast Pakistan vs India Cricket Streaming
It is worth mentioning here that PTV Sports telecasted all matches of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 as well.
In Asia Cup 2018, both Pakistan and India have played one ODI each against Hong Kong. Pakistan sealed a comfortable eight-wicket victory; however, India just survived a hugely embarrassing defeat as at one stage, Hong Kong was on 174 for 0 while chasing 286 runs target. But in the end, India won the match by 26 runs.
Even after today’s encounter, Pakistan and India will meet each other again on September 23, and may even meet thrice in Asia Cup 2018 if they reach the final to be played at Dubai on September 28 and telecasted live by PTV Sports.

The 14th Asia cup 2018 kicked off on September 15 (Saturday) under the auspices of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the inaugural match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Under the One Day International (ODI) format, all 13 matches of six-nation Asia Cup 2018 were scheduled to be held at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Besides the Defending Champions India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong were the participants in the event. Except for Hong Kong, all other teams having ICC Test Status were directly entitled to Asia Cup 2018; however, Hong Kong ensured its place in the event by beating UAE in the final of 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier held in Malaysia from August 29 to September 6, 2018.
In the Qualifier, six teams including Hong Kong, UAE, Oman, Nepal, Malaysia, and Singapore wrestled to go through to the main event. Being two tops teams from the group stage, Hong Kong and UAE met in the final at Kuala Lumpur on September 6, and eventually the former won by two wickets under the D/L method.
The participants of Asia Cup 2018 were divided into two groups; namely Group A which included Pakistan, India and Hong Kong; and Group B which included Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
In Group B, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka faced each other on September 15 at Dubai while Pakistan took on Hong Kong in a Group A match on September 16 at the same venue.
On September 17, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan met each other at Abu Dhabi in Group A match whereas India wrestled with Hong Kong in a Group B match on September 18 at Dubai.
It is also worth noting that India had requested ACC to reschedule its match against Pakistan on September 19 because, after its ODI against Hong Kong, it didn’t have time for rest in UAE’s hot condition prior to Pakistan’s encounter.
After today’s match between Pakistan and India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will face each other at Abu Dhabi tomorrow in the last match of a group stage followed by Super Four stage.
By now, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong have been knocked out of Asia Cup 2018 while Pakistan and India have reached Super Four stage from Group A and Bangladesh and Afghanistan have entered the next round from Group B.
Since 1984 when the first edition of Asia Cup took place in Sharjah, India has been the most successful team as it won the title six times including the sole T20 event in 2016 followed by Sri Lanka by remaining five-time Champions. Pakistan has won the Asia Cup twice, in 2000 and 2012.
So far only once Pakistan and India have hosted Asia Cup each whereas Bangladesh five times, Sri Lanka four times and UAE twice.
In terms of individual performance, Sri Lankan’s Sanath Jayasuriya is the leading scorer in Asia Cup with 1220 runs while his Country fellow Muttiah Muralitharan with 30 wickets tops the highest wicket taker’s chart.
