NOTTINGHAM, United Kingdom: With a hope to bounce back and register their first win in the five-match series, Pakistan will take on England again on Tuesday in third one day international (ODI) at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
The third ODI between Pakistan and England will begin at 06:00 pm PST and will be telecast by PTV Sports.
Pakistan’s worrying form in ODIs continues to lessen their chancing of directly qualifying for 2019 World Cup as England have beaten them in previous two ODIs of five-match series.
Currently possessing ninth position in ICC ODI rankings, Pakistan’s struggle to dominate fifth ranked England in recent years has not yielded fruitful results. However at Trent Bridge, Pakistan share equally number of victories with England which make 3-3.
Though Pakistan’s struggle to improve their ODI ranking is coupled with multiple problems such as inexperienced players and inability to adjust to modern-day cricket especially with the batting, but yet Imad Wasim believes that they have enough potential and talent which will enable them to come hard against England.
“Obviously we’re No. 9 in the world. But with the talent we’ve got, I don’t think it’s a No. 9 team. We have to show that in big matches like tomorrow. I believe we can come back,” Pakistan’s all-rounder Imad Wasim said in a press conference.
Muhammad Hafeez is no more available to Pakistan for rest of the series and he has been replaced with left arm Muhammad Irfan. However, Irfan’s participation in third ODI is not likely.
