NAGPUR, India: The opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 is being played between India and New Zealand at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Tuesday.
Both the teams are part of group 2 which also includes Australia, Pakistan and Bangladesh while group 1 consists of South Africa, England, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
India and New Zealand are being rated very high and considered as likely to be among four semi-finalists by virtue of their having well balanced lineups and recent performances.
In their last recent five T20 matches, India did not lose a single game whereas New Zealand faced defeat only in one match.

Earlier the qualifying round of the tournament ended on March 13 with Afghanistan and Bangladesh emerged as victorious. The final of the ICC World T20 will be played on April 3.
It is the sixth edition of T20 World Cup and earlier India, Pakistan, England, West Indies and Sri Lanka won the tournament each.
Pakistan will play its first match of the World T20 2016 on March 16 against Bangladesh in Kolkata.
